Bach Elementary, originally constructed in 1922, is a three-story masonry structure with exterior brick veneer. The school facility is situated on 7.8 acres in the northwest sector of Ann Arbor. The original structure has experienced at least 3 additions over the years, and currently supports Y5 – Grade 5.
You might notice some work taking place in and around your school this summer. Construction will begin during summer break on projects approved as part of the 2019 bond, including those that will enhance the health, safety and learning experience for students and staff. This summer Bach Elementary will be receiving air conditioning and lighting upgrades, along with new power equipment installed on the rooftop. This work may result in areas around the school and parking lot that are being blocked off for equipment and construction crew. Bach will also be receiving paving improvements that will result in the temporary closing of the school’s main parking lots as this work is taking place. Updated the school’s Building Management System (BMS) to the latest version including a new graphical interface and mobile, cloud-based access. The upgrades allow for better systems control, improved occupant comfort and energy efficiency.
Installation of filtered water bottle filling stations throughout the school.
Update to security system on property.
New playground equipment was added.
Construction/repairs of school roof.

Purchase of new musical instruments and pianos for music classrooms and auditoriums.
New, flexible, classroom furniture was added to create a more accessible, engaging and student-centered environment.
