New Thurston Elementary School News – December 2025

To support construction of the new Thurston Elementary, the following activities are taking place on campus.

Current Work, Weather Permitting:

Building foundation work is wrapping up for the season with additional work taking place in the Spring.
Utility work is ongoing, including the water main which will begin soon.
Structural steel installation and masonry continues.

Please note:

The district has received inquiries regarding documented radon levels at existing schools, particularly those located adjacent to construction sites. For more information regarding Thurston indoor air sampling, please click here.
The walkway along the North/East construction fencing is not accessible to bikes, strollers, etc. It is a walking path with inclines. Please use paved sidewalks for accessibility. The rustic path will not be cleared of snow during the winter.
Construction-related trail access changes are posted onsite courtesy of the Thurston Nature Center.
Construction parking and construction access drives are for construction personnel only and to ensure safety, staff and parents should refrain from using construction parking and/or drives.
Emails will continue to be sent, to provide updates on campus activities.
